In an extraordinary milestone for African music, Nigerian pop sensation Ayra Starr has been officially announced as the headliner for the 2026 NFL London Game Halftime Show.
Scheduled for October 11, 2026, at the iconic Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the performance will mark the first time an African or Afrobeats artist headlines an official NFL international halftime event.
The show, presented by American Express as part of the NFL’s global expansion initiative, will take place during the highly anticipated matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

"London is one of my favourite places in the world, and to bring Starrgirl to the NFL global stage is a dream come true for me. I can't wait to see you guys there!"
— Ayra Starr
Tim Tubito, the NFL’s Senior Director of Global Game Presentation, Music, and Entertainment, described the 24-year-old artist as a "generational talent with a real connection to fans" in London and internationally, noting that African music has been at the very heart of the UK capital's cultural movement for years.
The announcement comes right on the heels of immense global buzz surrounding her third studio album, Starrgirl. Released on August 14, the 16-track project has taken center stage in global pop and Afrobeats discussions.
Industry critics and fans alike have lauded the album's elevated production quality, vocal arrangement, and overall cohesiveness, with every city she's toured lit in purple; the signature colour of the Stargirl album.

With a star-studded tracklist featuring Wizkid, Rema, ZAYN and Leon Thomas, Starr has solidified her reputation in genre versatility.
Standout tracks like "Heaven Baby", "Gimme Dat", and "Pressure" are already dominating worldwide streaming charts, earning widespread praise for the detail, style and executive production.
Her upcoming NFL halftime performance, set to reach tens of thousands inside Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and millions watching across global broadcasts, will serve as a launchpad into stadium-level solo touring.
With fashion houses, international sports leagues, and global streaming audiences converging around her, Ayra Starr is not just following the path paved by Afrobeats pioneers, she is expanding the map entirely. A true Starr.
