Breaking: Wrestling Icon Hulk Hogan Dies at 71

CLEARWATER, FL – July 24, 2025 — Terrence “Terry” Gene Bollea, globally adored as Hulk Hogan, has passed away at the age of 71 from cardiac arrest.

He was found unresponsive at his Clearwater Beach residence early Thursday morning and later pronounced dead at Morton Plant Hospital.


Born in Augusta, Georgia, in 1953, Hogan debuted in wrestling in 1977. He exploded into the mainstream after joining the WWF in 1983 and became the ultimate embodiment of 1980s “Hulkamania.” Hogan headlined the first WrestleMania and famously bodyslammed Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III, a moment etched in pop culture history.

With six WWE world championships and two inductions into the Hall of Fame (2005 and 2020), his charisma and red‑and‑yellow persona turned wrestling into global entertainment .


Hogan crossed into pop culture, appearing in Rocky III, starring in Hogan Knows Best, and launching TV ventures. More recently, he co‑founded the Real American Freestyle wrestling league, set to debut August 30 — a project he passionately pushed as commissioner.


He is survived by his wife Sky Daily and children Brooke and Nick. Hogan’s legacy spans 71 years filled with triumph, controversy, reinvention, and lasting impact on millions across generations.
