Paris Haute Couture Week kicked off under surreal skies and even more surreal visuals as Cardi B stole the spotlight at Schiaparelli’s Fall 2025 couture show crow in hand, fringe in motion, and cinematic intent on full display.

Walking the steps of the Petit Palais, Cardi donned a custom black velvet column gown, complete with ivory fringe cascading from the sculptural shoulders.
But her most unexpected accessory? A live black crow, perched inconspicuously on her gloved hand. The bird squawked, flapped, and startled paparazzi — even prompting Cardi to hush the crowd so it wouldn’t fly off, calling it her “best friend”
This stunning moment echoed Schiaparelli’s surrealist past Elsa Schiaparelli famously wove animals into her designs and paid homage to the imagery surrounding Cardi’s upcoming album, Am I the Drama?, which similarly features black birds
This wasn’t mere fashion theatrics. Cardi used the moment to narratively drive her brand forward. The crow wasn’t an accessory it was a character. It referenced her music, her persona, and a visual universe she is crafting. “Crowdi B,” as fans cheekily dubbed it, is both eerie and unforgettable

Despite rain-dappled umbrellas and moody weather, the show brimmed with star energy
Dua Lipa, Hunter Schafer, Karol G, and others accompanied Cardi in a front row filled with bold figures .
The collection itself, by creative director Daniel Roseberry, combined black-and-white surreal minimalism with fluidity and non-corseted silhouettes a nod to Elsa’s legacy channeled through a progressive lens
Schiaparelli has always thrived on the unexpected from lobster hats to animal motifs. But in a digital age where images flood our feeds in milliseconds, Cardi’s entrance was a potent exercise in controlled spectacle.
It turned couture into content and content into conversation.
This is fashion not just worn, but lived. It isn’t about wearing the show. It’s about being the show.
