Fashion Scout’s Ones To Watch: Edition 03
For twenty years, Fashion Scout has served as a vital springboard for international design talent, supporting over 1,500 emerging talents from more than 70 countries. Closing out its milestone anniversary season on Sunday, 20th September, the platform's signature Ones To Watch programme returned for Edition 03 during London Fashion Week, connecting a fresh wave of visionary talent with global press, buyers, and industry leaders.
Edition 03 brought together seven boundary-pushing designers - BAM-BAM, Diamanté by Venuka, Hurricane B, KOFFI MAAKO, NMCG, Raxada, and Yukito Lim, each presenting a distinctive approach shaped by personal heritage, cultural references and experimental making.
As these trailblazing designers step onto the international stage, Black PR has curated a closer look at the collections, the stories, and the innovative spirit defining the next era of fashion.
BAM-BAM

Mixed-heritage British designer Bam-Bam, now based in Indonesia, presented tailored streetwear as a canvas for original artwork. Their self-developed ‘Abstract Cubist Patternism’ translates hand-drawn illustration into highly individual garments, created alongside a small artisan team and centred around self-expression and visual identity.

DIAMANTÉ BY VENUKA

Sri Lankan-born, England-based designer Venuka Wickramaarachchi brings cultural heritage into dialogue with contemporary luxury. Sculptural silhouettes and textile manipulation are combined with traditional techniques including Beeralu bobbin lace and Dumbara Rata weaving, transforming historic craftsmanship into a modern design language.

HURRICANE B

Established in Italy in 2018, Hurricane B explores contemporary femininity through sculptural form, sensuality and strength. Rooted in Italian craftsmanship but driven by a futuristic aesthetic, the label combines refined materials, experimental detailing and assertive silhouettes at the intersection of fashion, art and design.

KOFFI MAAKO

Founded by Ghanaian designer Mako Akolam, KOFFI MAAKO draws on identity, architecture and cultural storytelling. Inspired by the geometry of Gurunsi architecture, the label translates architectural references into experimental construction, proportion and handcrafted detail, with made-to-order and limited production allowing each piece to function as both garment and visual narrative.

NMCG

Irish designer Niamh McGovern’s NMCG explores the relationship between traditional Catholic ceremony and contemporary youth culture. Corsetry and tailoring provide the foundation for exaggerated, playful silhouettes, creating a tension between inherited symbolism, personal memory and a generation redefining its relationship with tradition.

RAXADA

Founded by María Puente Silva and Marina Palacio Silva in northern Spain, Raxada takes inspiration from the landscapes, mythology and ancestral craftsmanship of Asturias. Working closely with local artisans, the designers reinterpret regional techniques through contemporary clothing, using fashion as both cultural preservation and a way of giving traditional knowledge a new visual life.

YUKITO LIM

London-based designer Yukito Lim explores memory, displacement and the emotional relationship between clothing and the body. Deadstock fabrics, second-hand garments and discarded materials are reconstructed through experimental textile techniques, retaining traces of their previous lives within new sculptural forms and making material reuse part of the emotional narrative of the clothes.
