Fringe Benefit: "Not entirely sure the Met Gala theme was in the room with Teyana Taylor… but we do love a fringe benefit."

Self-styled in Tom Ford, Teyana leaned all the way into movement - a silver, swaying silhouette that comes alive as she walks. The face-framing fringe, the fluidity, the drama - it’s giving performance, not just presence.

She told British Vogue she imagined it as a “ghost of a body,” appearing and disappearing in motion - and to be fair, you can see it. It’s theatrical, hypnotic, and built for the camera.

Does it fully land with the theme? Debatable.

Did she commit to the bit? Absolutely.

And here’s the thing - not every fashion moment needs to be anchored to an art reference to be considered art. Sometimes, the story, the movement, the feeling it evokes - that’s enough. And this? This told a story.

Maybe more Dancing with the Stars finale than Met Gala, but honestly? We’ll take it.
