Nosey trip to Inventing the Runway by Vogue at The Lighthouse, King’s Cross.
Not sure what I expected, but here’s the thing: to truly enjoy an event like this, you have to be a fashion person—curious about the history, the legends, and the nuanced brilliance that designers bring to life.

Watching the show felt like digging through Vogue’s archives and walking through memory lane in haute couture heels. The nostalgia was rich, but so was the sorrow. Seeing clips and pieces from greats like Virgil Abloh, Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander McQueen, and Patrick Kelly came with the haunting realisation that while time here is fleeting, creativity and invention often outlive their creators.
The immersive setup was slick and stylish—very of the moment. But honestly? For the ticket price, it felt like a very elevated, cinematic binge you could’ve watched from your couch, with Netflix and wine.
Still, good on Vogue for making something new out of their archive trove. I wouldn’t go again, but I wouldn’t tell anyone not to either. Go if you love fashion. Go if you love history. But mostly, go if you want to feel the weight of legacy in sequins and silence.
