Dina Asher-Smith has cemented her legacy as the most successful athlete in the 92-year history of the European Athletics Championships.
Asher-Smith reached 8 European Championship gold medals and 11 total medals overall, surpassing legendary Polish sprinter Irena Szewinska and distance star Jakob Ingebrigtsen to become the most decorated European championships athlete of all time.

She sealed her record-breaking eighth gold as part of Great Britain's victorious mixed 4x100m relay team alongside Amy Hunt, Jeremiah Azu, and Zharnel Hughes, who set a European record time of 39.97 seconds.
During the Birmingham championships, Asher-Smith added three medals to her haul: golds in the women's 4x100m relay and mixed 4x100m relay, alongside a bronze in the individual 200m.
"It hasn't sunk in at all,"
Asher-Smith commented following her victory in the relay. Her historic performance anchored a major closing night for Great Britain's sprint team on home territory.
