Sports: Ugo Ugochukwu Crowned 2026 Formula 3 Champion
The name Ugo Ugochukwu is quickly becoming one to remember in motorsport.

At just 19, Ugo Ugochukwu is making his mark on the international motorsport stage, after being crowned the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Champion.
The Nigerian-American racing driver has been steadily building an impressive career, progressing from karting into single-seater racing and establishing himself as one of the exciting young talents coming through the motorsport ranks.

Ugo began racing competitively as a child and has spent much of his young life working his way through the notoriously demanding road towards Formula One. His potential was recognised early, with McLaren signing him to its driver development programme while he was still a teenager.
His latest championship victory represents a significant step in that journey. Formula 3 is one of the key development categories beneath Formula One, where some of the world's most promising young drivers compete before progressing further up the ladder.

There is also a Nigerian connection worth celebrating. Ugo is the son of Nigerian supermodel Oluchi Onweagba and Italian-American designer Luca Orlandi, but increasingly, his achievements are ensuring that his name stands firmly on its own.
At 19, there is still plenty of road ahead. But with a Formula 3 championship now on his résumé, Ugo Ugochukwu isn't simply one to watch anymore. He is a champion - and perhaps, one day, a Formula One driver.
