When Nike decided to collaborate with Designer Olaoluslawn for this kit, it was bound to be a cultural statement. He got the brief, and as usual created a masterpiece.

The creative designer tapped into his Lagos energy for this one and afterwards reached back home with the lineup for the campaign, even he jokingly admitted that he pulled the “avengers” for this one. And honestly we are impressed. He didn’t go the normal route to dress just athletes in this kit, he pulled notable stars like Grace Ladoja, Kidakudz, the indomitable mama G (Patience Ozokwor), and athletes Jay Jay Okocha, Toluwalese Arokodare and Samuel Chukwueze who are not just celebrities but faces of a generation’s shared memory.

This was a deliberate move. The young creative has been known to operate at an intersection between cultural pride and street culture and this was no different.

The collection will drop this summer but the pictures as captured by photographer Stephen Tayo, are already doing what they’re meant to do, make people feel seen.
