For the Woman Who Commands the Room: Christie Brown at Lagos Fashion Week

Structural, contemporary and effortlessly chic, Christie Brown's latest collection at Lagos Fashion Week offered a wardrobe for the high-flying professional woman. The woman who commands attention without necessarily demanding it.
There was a distinctly autumnal mood to the collection, with rich shades of brown setting the tone. But beyond the colour palette, it was the interplay between structure and fluidity that made the collection particularly interesting.

Gingham and damask brought texture and visual interest, while laser-cut detailing, leather and ruching introduced a more contemporary edge. Structured silhouettes sat alongside free-flowing pieces, creating an interesting tension between clothes that hold their shape and those that surrender to the movement of the body.
There was a sense of ease even in the more architectural pieces. Fabrics swayed, silhouettes moved, and the collection explored the possibilities of dressing a woman who appreciates both authority and femininity.

Power dressing, certainly, but without the rigidity.
