Since 2017, Groupe Artemis have had a stake in Giambattista Valli’s eponymous brand. The private investment arm of the Pinault family helped the brand expand its collections and strengthening its international presence
There have been speculations of a strain in their business relationship over the company’s direction behind the scene.
The designer has announced via his Instagram page that he has now acquired full ownership of his brand. He also informed the public that it was a mutually agreed upon move as the Chairman of Artemis commented: “We have been delighted to support Mr Giambattista Valli and to stand behind such a singular and demanding creative vision. After years of an inspiring collaboration, a new chapter is now opening in this entrepreneurial adventure, and I wish Giambattista every success in the next stage of his journey”. The designer, Mr Giambattista Valli, added: “I would like to thank Artémis for its support and commitment to the Maison throughout all these years. This agreement now enables me to fully regain control of my brand and to pursue its development with enthusiasm and energy.”
This move means he will now operate independently, in that spirit of freedom and independence which has always defined the brand.
